
| Customizing Fields |

In this issue we will cover customizing fields within your software. FirePrograms gives you the ability to customize each field on every form. The field can be required, it can be required and the user must select an entry from the valid entry list, the field can be color coded, etc. Follow the steps below to customize your fields for your department: |

Field Properties:
2. Enter a default value (if desired), this will auto populate the field with the value entered. 3. Field Color: click the ellipsis button to choose your desired color. 4. Default button: click this button to reset the field properties to the original settings. 5. Required: check this box if you wish to require the user to enter data into the field. 6. Hidden: check this box to hide the field so no data can be entered in or viewed on the form. 7. Select from list: check this box to require the user to select data from the valid entry list. 8. Click OK to save any changes you make to the field
If you would like to make the field required and select the data from the valid entry list, check the boxes labeled Required and check Select from list. When any of the above options are selected for a field, the field will become a different color. For example, checking required will make the field blue. The field will be purple if required and select from list are selected. The field will be green if select from list is selected. These colors can be modified in System Setup depending upon your department’s preferences. |
