1. From
the FirePrograms Desktop, click the System Setup icon.
2. Highlight
‘Desired User’ login – click Change button. This will customize the
particular login selected. Each user can customize the browse tables with
their personal preferences in mind. If you would like to customize for
everyone at one time, select ‘Default User’ (also select this if you do not
use logins within FirePrograms)
3. Highlight
‘Browse Setup’, in the right hand window all the browse tables within
FirePrograms will display.
4. Select
the table you would like to modify and click Change button. (the example I
will be using is Incident Reports)
5. Number
of Records field = this is the number of records to pull from the database
at one time. The default is 300, this will pull 300 incidents records. By
decreasing this number, it can increase the speed of your data across the
network.
6. Number
of Rows field = this is the number of rows displayed at one time (without
having to scroll down or page down) on the browse table.
7. Browse
Table = this browse table displays all of the fields associated with
particular browse table selected. (Select one of these to edit – the
example I will be using is alarmdate).
8. Highlight
selection (alarmdate) and click Change button.
9. Column
Pos = the order the fields will display in the browse table.

Column Name leave as is.

Display Name = enter the text that you would like displayed on the header of
the browse
table for this field.

Column Width = enter the value for the length of the field (default = 120)
13.
Has Tab =
means that the field selected will have a Tab located on the browse table.
This will give you the ability to sort by this field.

Sort
Descending = if this is checked this field will automatically sort
descending.
15.
Visible =
means that the chosen field is visible on the browse table. This is a
requirement
if Has Tab or Sort Descending is selected.

Click on
the Custom Display tab = this tab gives you the ability to customize values
displayed on the browse table. For example, in the hydrant module on the
browse table displays Out of Service, Private Hydrant, etc. The data stored
within FirePrograms is a 1 or a 0. The 1 means Yes, the 0 means No. You
can customize the display to say Yes (when it is a 1) or No (when is a 0),
or whatever other value you would like displayed. To do this click Insert,
choose the Data Value stored within the database (drop down arrow will
display all the values – 1 or 0), in the Display Value enter the value you
would liked display on the browse table such as YES. Click OK.

Repeat
the above for all customized values.
18. Click
on the Additional Sort Fields tab = this tab gives you the ability to create
additional sorts on the browse table. Such as sorting by Street, then
within the street sort by the direction (North, South, Etc.), To do this
click Insert, then select the additional field you wish to sort by and click
OK.
19.
Click OK
again to return to the main Browse Setup Form.
