In this issue we will cover how to create compatible mapping files & turn mapping layers on & off, if you have layers available to you. These layers are in addition to the standard FirePrograms maps & are usually available from your local government.

Creating Layers 1. If you have mapping files in the appropriate format available to you save to your hard drive. 2. Then open Windows Explorer, to the Arrakis folder and find pwimport.exe 3. Double Click pwimport.exe – this program will convert your mapping files into a compatible format with your FirePrograms Mapping Files. 4. Please see the attached document for detailed step by step instructions & screenshots for converting your files.
Loading a Mapping Layer
1. Open FirePrograms Mapping module. 2. Click the button called Add Layer on the bottom of your screen. 3. The Arrakis directory will display, select the desired layer you would like to view 4. Click Open. 5. Repeat this process for each layer you would like displayed.
The mapping layers will display when you follow the previous steps, so if you wish to view a layer do not select it.
